A Quick Guide to the PES Files in Your Download

Why You’ll Find Two PES Files in Our ZIP Downloads

If you’ve ever opened one of our ZIP files, you may have noticed that we include two versions of the PES format:
filename.pes and filename_old.pes.

We’d like to take a moment to explain why.

Embroidery machines can vary quite a bit, especially when it comes to supported file formats. While newer machines usually work perfectly with the standard PES file, some older models require an earlier version of the format to read the design correctly.

To make things easier for everyone, we’ve included both options in your download:

• filename.pes – for newer machines
• filename_old.pes – for older machines that need a compatible PES version

You can simply choose the file that works best with your machine.
